Are you ready to make a mess? The WPL is kicking off the 2026 Summer Library Program by bringing back one of our most popular events, Mess Fest! We'll turn W. 3rd Street into Waterloo's largest sandbox, and provide everything needed to make the castles of your dreams. Also on tap, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, games, and more! You'll even have a chance to meet members of the Waterloo Fire Department. Treats will be provided. This program is weather permitting and no rain date will be scheduled.
