You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give. -Winston Churchill

Volunteers play an important part in helping to provide library services to the citizens of Waterloo and the surrounding area. Each year, nearly 100 citizens from the metropolitan area volunteer their time, talents and energy to help out at the Library.

Volunteer activities include:

  • Summer programming for teens and youth

  • Helping during children's programming

  • Working in the Friends Used Book Shop

  • Sorting donations

  • Other special projects

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and out of an abundance of caution, we are currently not accepting applications for new volunteers at this time. Thank you so much for your interest in our volunteer program! As the Library slowly reintroduce services, stop back here to find future listings of volunteer opportunities.
